Reflections on a Remarkable 2024 at Lightwell
As we say goodbye to 2024 and look ahead to 2025, it’s the perfect moment to reflect on what has been a busy and sometimes challenging year for Lightwell. Like everyone in the dynamic world of TV production, we’ve faced our share of hurdles, but it’s the successes and milestones that stand out most vividly.
Creating Immersive Virtual Worlds
This year, we had the privilege of working on some incredible projects that showcased our ability to push the boundaries of virtual production. A highlight was designing the new virtual sets for CNA News in Singapore. This project allowed us to blend cutting-edge technology with thoughtful design, creating a visually stunning environment for one of Asia’s leading news channels.
In the world of global sports, we were thrilled to create the virtual sets for the BBC’s Olympic studio in Paris. Delivering a world-class studio for such a prestigious event was an exhilarating challenge, and seeing our work come to life during the games was deeply rewarding.
Our Work on Screen
Throughout 2024, our contributions continued to feature prominently across major broadcasters. From the vibrant energy of Match of the Day to the trusted voices of ITV News and ABC News, and the dynamic coverage on ITV Sport, our virtual production work has played a key role in enhancing the viewer experience. It’s always a proud moment to see our designs as part of these iconic programs.
Connecting and Innovating Globally
In addition to our project work, 2024 saw us actively engaging with the global innovation community. Visiting Singapore as part of the Innovate UK GBIP (Global Business Innovation Programme) was a particular highlight. This opportunity allowed us to share insights, explore new technologies, and forge connections that we’re excited to build upon in the future.
Looking to the Future
We ended the year on a high note by winning a major pitch to deliver the virtual sets for an international sporting event set to take place in 2025. This project is already shaping up to be one of the most exciting and ambitious undertakings in our history, and we can’t wait to bring it to life.
