BBC Sport World Indoor Athletics 2025 Virtual Set
The BBC Sport, Pres 2 Virtual Studio design has been in action once again, this time for the BBC's coverage of the World Indoor Athletics 2025. Recently, the BBC team completed a significant upgrade, moving the project from Unreal Engine 4.27 to Unreal Engine 5. This transition has brought a new level of realism and visual fidelity to the studio.

This project has been a fantastic opportunity to create a flexible and dynamic virtual environment that brings sporting events to life. The Pres 2 Virtual Studio was designed with adaptability in mind, allowing the BBC team to customize it for various sporting events. From athletics to football, rugby, and beyond, the studio’s versatile design ensures a tailored and engaging experience for viewers. The seamless integration of immersive visuals and responsive design elements has elevated the way sports are presented on screen.

Upgrading to Unreal Engine 5, powered by Viz 5 has delivered enhanced lighting, advanced rendering capabilities, and improved performance, resulting in a virtual environment that feels more vibrant and immersive than ever before.

It’s always rewarding to see our designs evolve and continue to enhance the viewing experience. Congratulations to the talented teams at BBC Sport for their continued innovation and dedication. We look forward to seeing how the Pres 2 Virtual Studio will be used in future broadcasts.
