A successful night at the IOC's Golden Rings Awards in Lausanne for BBC Sport. The judges assessed over 100 entries from the International Olympic Broadcasters and BBC Sport ended up with:Gold in Innovation for our Paris Extended Reality studio.

Here's an excerpt of the statement by the IOC:

The magic of the Olympic Games Paris 2024 has inspired people around the world, thanks to the tireless efforts of our media rights-holding partners and their creative teams. Tonight’s awards celebrate their commitment and dedication to the excellence of delivering a world-class product to global viewers. Thanks to the jury for their insights and in reviewing the highest number of submissions – over 100 this year.”

Yiannis Exarchos, CEO of Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS), also highlighted the exceptional work of the MRHs in sharing the Olympic Games Paris 2024 with the world, with the winners representing the best of Olympic storytelling and innovation.

“The Golden Rings Awards celebrate the exceptional creativity and dedication of Media Rights-Holders,” he said. “Through their innovation and storytelling, they not only showcase the extraordinary achievements of the athletes, but also deepen the connection between the Games and the viewers, inspiring billions with the Olympic spirit.”
